Winning awards for your outstanding marketing communications work by a national professional organization is just one way to be recognized by your peers at work or with clients.  Learn how to make your next marketing plan, newsletter, social media campaign or other communication tactics award winning – and successful!

Our January luncheon presenters are two award programs veterans.  Sheryl Liddle has been instrumental in the design and implementation of the Annual AWC Clarion Awards Competition. Pat Meads has been a Clarion judge for 14 years.  The Clarion Awards recognize excellence in clear, concise communications. Clarion recipients represent media companies large and small, leading corporations, small businesses, and nonprofit associations and institutions. Pat and Sheryl will give you an inside view of the judging process, including the questions used to evaluate entries. They will share information and tips for submitting a winning entry. The Clarion competition attracts many prestigious entries every year, but you don’t have to be a “big name” to enter and win. Learn about the new categories and the new way to win. The Clarion competition is always looking for new judges -  a rewarding opportunity to learn from other entries.

Pat Meads has been a member of AWC since 1976 – in Minnesota, Kansas City, and now as an Independent member.  She spent 39 years in Sales Promotion, Advertising, Marketing and Event Planning in Minneapolis and Kansas City.,  Pat serves as the treasurer on the AWC national board of directors.  Pat has a bachelor’s degree in Journalism from the University of Minnesota and a master’s degree in Journalism from the University of Kansas.

Sheryl Liddle is a long-time AWC member and has served in the roles of AWC Chair, AWC National Development Conference Chair and Coordinator for the Clarion Awards.
