Allison Buehner is a Marketing Communications Specialist for Business Development & Strategic Initiatives at Comcast in Chicago, Illinois. In her role, she supports strategic initiatives through public relations, marketing, social media, writing, and data that advance the built environment through technology and connectivity. In addition to her full-time work, she freelances as a social media content planner and developer.
Allison is very involved in the Chicagoland area, as a member of Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce Emerging Leaders program and a 2020 graduate of the Loyola University Quinlan School of Business Impact Leaders series. She also contributes her social media skills to the American Cancer Society in Chicago annually at races each spring.
A graduate of Illinois State University, she has a Bachelor's degree in Communication Studies: Organization & Leadership and a minor in Business Administration. During her time at ISU, she became extremely involved in the Association for Women in Communications, joining the local Bloomington-Normal professional chapter board, then founding the current student chapter at ISU. Allison was nominated and elected as a Director to the National Board in January 2016 and has served as the inaugural Student Outreach Committee co-chair, Marketing Communications Committee co-chair, and now currently serves as the national Vice Chair. She is passionate about the mission of AWC and looks forward to continuing the meaningful work of the organization.
