How can we, as communicators and as citizens, provide information ethically and effectively in today's media climate? How do we ensure the sources we're using are credible and how can we make sure our work doesn't get caught in the "fake news" filter? Jennifer Konfrst has been studying recent claims of "fake news" and "alternative facts" in her role as a political communication and PR professor at Drake. She'll discuss how to identify fake news and how to make sure communications have credibility amid the noise. She'll also discuss the threats to ethical communications practice posed by the idea of "alternative facts."
